52Steel Superyacht

Explore the 7 seas. That’s the big goal when you choose the 52Steel Superyacht for Microsoft Flight Simulator. You’ll have at your disposal a large, highly detailed yacht with 4 decks, 2 elevators, 8 en suite bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, animated pool, library, cinema and conference area, barbecue, sun deck and private crew room with kitchen and laundry. It’s massive, elegant and imposing, with 15 animated flags at your disposal and 13 liveries to choose from.

Available in MSFS 2020/2024!

The Superyacht was inspired by the Sanlorenzo 52Steel class of luxury yachts and has technical specifications compatible with it, with a few exceptions for better compatibility with the game. The ship has a command bridge with interactive panels such as GPS, a panel for controlling functions such as autopilot, lights and a panel for selecting the animated flag on the mast. The ship has a pier for docking (controlled by flaps) and its autopilot can be switched between HDG and GPS NAV modes. The ship can be turned on and off using the ignition key on the panel. The ship also has blue underwater LED lights for nighttime decoration, and thanks to the elevators, it is possible to walk around the entire ship and access all decks with the avatar. The elevators are automatic, without the need for interaction and travel one floor at a time. The ship has reflective lights on the main mast and navigation reflectors in a narrow waterway for challenging navigation.

Ship control has been optimized to represent enjoyable gameplay. In this sense, the ship's acceleration, its maximum speed (established at 30 knots to facilitate those operating long-distance transfers) and turning capacity were designed for those who want to have fun, despite having in their hands a ship fully detailed and modeled as in the real life. The current water physics is not suitable for a high-level simulation for vessels although there is the intention that this will be worked on when there is an improvement in the game's physical capabilities.

Use the UP/DOWN key on the Joystick to disable the anchor and use the power lever to control acceleration and the left and right aileron controls to make course changes. It is possible to use the elevator up and down to accelerate the ship over short distances, as well as use the rudder to move the ship laterally to facilitate operation in ports, docks or regions with restricted maneuvering, but keep in mind that the limits water/ground conditions defined by the Flight Simulator environment cause false grounding in seaplanes or any type of water vehicle - as well as passing under bridges or navigating in cities with photogrammetry - this is not a product defect.

FAQ

There were several reports from users of unusual situations, but with a similar report: it was impossible to control the boat / the boat stalls in a certain direction - this is not a problem linked to the Add-On itself, but a missing setting in the game standard for more experienced simulations. Piloting assistants disable some features that break the mobility of boats in the water and cause situations where users cannot navigate - and unfortunately they end up, without knowing the reason, blaming the Add-On for this. These images show a recommended configuration for navigating with a keyboard, joystick or other external control hardware, bearing in mind that some of these hardware (especially those with a landing gear lever) may present unusual or unexpected situations due to the nature of the hardware - already that it was designed for runways and airplanes. Any questions, unusual or unexpected situations you face, please contact me via email for assistance.
