Users have been asking for some time about implementing an Autopilot on boats, and this would be perfect taking into account long journeys, but I received a response from the Asobo team on the subject:

"Enabling autopilot (AP) on the ground in aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 can be problematic due to specific software limitations and aircraft modeling. These limitations are intentional to replicate realistic aircraft behaviors, where AP is typically only activated in flight and after reaching a certain altitude."

Therefore, there are limitations in the internal logic of MSFS 2020 that prevent the AP from functioning on the ground/water. These limitations could be circumvented by codes not officially supported by the platform, but this exposes the user to any type of unexpected failure and would not work on the Xbox. So, unfortunately we won't see AP in MSFS 2020. It's sad, as I wasted months trying different ways to do this.

There were several reports from users of unusual situations, but with a similar report: it was impossible to control the boat / the boat stalls in a certain direction - this is not a problem linked to the Add-On itself, but a missing setting in the game standard for more experienced simulations. Piloting assistants disable some features that break the mobility of boats in the water and cause situations where users cannot navigate - and unfortunately they end up, without knowing the reason, blaming the Add-On for this. These images show a recommended configuration for navigating with a keyboard, joystick or other external control hardware, bearing in mind that some of these hardware (especially those with a landing gear lever) may present unusual or unexpected situations due to the nature of the hardware - already that it was designed for runways and airplanes.
